My fantasy novel Blood Duty has two secondary characters who are gay.
Another good novel with a main character who is gay and female is C. R. Daem’s The Kazak Guardians.

I was repeatedly advised by certain people to turn a gay secondary character in my fantasy book straight, lest I "offend readers."
I'm a straight male, but I've had numerous gays and lesbian friends. I served with them in the military when DADT was still in play.
The insertion of the "controversial" character in my manuscript was originally a nod to the gays and lesbians I served with, some of which ended up being booted from the military despite wanting to serve their country and being good at their jobs.
I'm certainly not going to contribute to the marginalization of people by sexual orientation just because some people are intolerant.
